I've recently started getting loads of spam email. Anyone know how I can stop this please?

I've had the email account for 3 years, then all of a sudden i started getting about 30 junk emails a day, normally tring to get me to buy some strange mecine that I wouldn't want! It's driving me mad!

You have a few options with blocking spam.


You can get a desktop spam filter such as mailwasher and I it is free.

Most ISP's offer some spam filtering service from there end, which will stop the spam at their mail servers before it reaches your end. However they usually only make this service available to their hosted emails.





Change your email address.





Basically you won't be able to get your name off the spam lists and your only option is to block it.
Reply:Turn on your spam filter, which will greatly reduce the e-mails. Then, when an individual junk e-mail comes through, click on "spam" to alert your e-mail that this sender is junk. This has greatly reduced the amount of junk coming through my account. I almost got a new e-mail address, until I tried this.
