I changed my password before importing my address book from Outlook, but I still lost a bunch of contacts. Who are probably glad of that, because they all got a spam email from me thanks to this mail-pirate.
How does this happen and how can I trust Yahoo in the future to prevent it from re-occurring?
My Yahoo account was hijacked %26amp; deleted my address book after sending spam email. What's Yahoo doing about it?
use gmail its best.
Reply:Why would Yahoo do anything about it?
Sounds like you picked up a virus. That is your problem, not Yahoo's.
Immediately have your computer checked for a bug or 'bugs.'
Once it is clean of pests, install a firewall and an anti-virus program if you do not have one yet.
I strongly recommend a program for malware and adware also.
Changing your password may not be enough to secure your E-mail account again, but try it and see how it behaves.
You may have to open a new one with a different ID name and password.
You have to be more careful about how and where you go on the Internet, it is about Internet safety, and has nothing at all to do with Yahoo. Hope this helped
